Product quick view

Photos, color, size and "Add to bag" — in a window over the catalog. Shoppers pick a piece and keep browsing right where they left off.

Why it matters

Shoppers in the catalog have often almost decided: they liked the piece in the tile, and all that's left is a couple of photos, a color and a size. Going to the full product page at that moment is an extra step: a new page, loading time, then back again — where the catalog often resets to the top and the shopper has to find their place all over. It's especially frustrating when adding several items in a row.

Quick view opens the essentials in a window over the catalog. Shoppers browse the photos, pick a color and size, add the item to their bag and close the window — the catalog stays exactly where it was.

How it drives sales

  • Fewer steps to the bag. Add items straight from the catalog — no page hopping.
  • More items per order. When adding is easy, shoppers build a full look from several pieces in one pass through the catalog.
  • The catalog stays put. Scroll position, filters and sorting are preserved — shoppers continue right where they left off.
  • Decisions without the rush. The gallery and color switcher offer a closer look than the tile, without leaving the page.

How it works

  1. Hovering over a product in the catalog reveals a "Quick view" button. On mobile, it's a dedicated icon on the tile.
  2. One click opens the window: photo and video gallery, name, price, badges.
  3. The shopper flips through photos and picks a color — the gallery shows the piece in that color.
  4. Then picks a size: unavailable sizes are marked, with a size guide link right next to them.
  5. Taps "Add to bag" — the bag counter in the header updates, and the window can be closed.
  6. For the full story, "View full details" leads to the product page.

What the window shows

Block Contents
Gallery Product photos and video, switched with thumbnails
Color Color swatches; photos change with the color
Size Available and sold-out sizes, size guide
Purchase "Add to bag" button and link to the full product page

Fashion notes

In fashion, the decision often comes down to color: the same style in sand and in black feels like two different pieces. That's why color in quick view switches the photos instantly, not just the label. Out-of-stock sizes are visible but disabled — shoppers understand availability before they add anything to the bag.

For your team

Quick view needs no extra content: the window is built from the same data as the product page — photos, color and size variants, prices and badges. Turn it on for the whole catalog or only for selected categories.
