Discount engine
Discounts on products, categories and collections are set by rules with start and end dates. The storefront updates prices and badges itself.
Why it matters
In fashion retail, discounts are part of the calendar: end of season, the August swimwear sale, an outerwear weekend, a markdown on last season before the new collection lands. Lowering prices by hand on every product means hours of work, mistakes and the risk of forgetting to restore prices after the sale.
The Fashion CMS discount engine runs on rules. Define once what the discount applies to, how big it is and when it runs — and the storefront recalculates prices on its own.
How it drives sales
- Discounts are instantly visible. A struck-through old price and a "−30%" badge on the tile grab attention in the catalog and in search.
- Stock moves on time. A markdown on last season or a single category frees up the warehouse for the new collection.
- Sales start exactly as planned. A dated rule switches itself on and off — even at midnight or on weekends.
- Fewer mistakes. The base price never changes, so there's nothing to "roll back" when the sale ends.
- Easy to shop. Shoppers find marked-down pieces with the On sale filter or a dedicated collection.
How it works
- Your team creates a rule under "Marketing → Discounts."
- Chooses the discount type: a percentage or a fixed amount.
- Sets what it applies to: individual products, a category, a collection or an automatic collection.
- Sets the period: start and end dates and times — or leaves the discount open-ended.
- Turns the rule on. If the start date hasn't arrived yet, the rule waits with the "Scheduled" status.
- On the storefront, matching products automatically get the new price, the struck-through old one and a discount badge — in the catalog, on product pages, in the cart and in search.

Discounts vs. promo codes
A rule-based discount applies to every shopper and shows on the storefront right away. A promo code, on the other hand, only kicks in once the code is entered in the cart. You can combine them: say, a swimwear sale on the storefront plus a personal code for subscribers. Whether they stack is up to you in the settings.
For limited-run releases where the price doesn't drop but the launch moment matters, go with drops with a countdown.
For your team
All rules live in one list: you can see which discounts are active, which are scheduled and how many products they affect. If several rules apply to one product, the system follows the logic you choose — for example, the best discount for the shopper. That prevents discounts from stacking by accident and pushing a price below your floor.
