Why it matters

Promo codes are the most flexible tool in fashion marketing. A code for newsletter subscribers, an influencer code, a code for the summer capsule, a win-back code — every campaign has its own terms. If your platform can only do "10% off everything," marketing hits a wall: the discount goes to products that sell anyway, and the campaign budget is impossible to control.

In Fashion CMS, a promo code is built like a construction kit: you choose what gets discounted, on what, when and how many times.

How it drives sales

  • Targeted campaigns, not blanket discounts. A code only for dresses and swimwear clears the right categories and protects margins on new arrivals.
  • Higher average order value. A minimum order amount motivates shoppers to add one more piece to unlock the code.
  • Measurable channels. A separate code for each influencer, email or offline event shows which channel actually brings buyers.
  • Budget under control. Usage limits and validity dates keep the campaign within plan.
  • A push to checkout. Shoppers watch the total drop right in the cart — a strong nudge to complete the order.

How it works

  1. Your team opens "Marketing → Promo codes" and sets a code — typed by hand or auto-generated.
  2. Chooses the discount type: a percentage or a fixed amount.
  3. Sets what it applies to: the entire cart, categories or specific products.
  4. Sets validity dates, a total usage limit, a "once per customer" restriction and a minimum order amount.
  5. The shopper enters the code in the cart — the discount applies only to eligible items, and the total updates instantly.
  6. If the terms aren't met, the shopper sees a clear reason: the code has expired, the order is below the minimum, or the code was already used.

Use cases

  • Influencer codes. A personal code for every influencer — see exactly who drives orders.
  • Category clearance. A discount on swimwear only at the end of the season.
  • Cart threshold. "€10 off orders over €70" — an incentive to buy the full look.
  • Welcome code. A single-use sign-up promo code tied to a specific customer.

Promo codes work alongside automatic discounts and the loyalty program: in the settings, you decide whether they stack with product discounts. The final total with the code applied shows in the cart and at checkout.
