Back-in-stock alerts for products and sizes

Size sold out? Shoppers sign up for an alert. When it's back, the system sends an email or notification on its own.

Why it matters

Popular sizes sell out first. A shopper finds the perfect sneakers, picks their size 38 — and it's gone. They close the tab and most likely buy a similar pair somewhere else. Your brand loses the sale, even though the size will be back in stock next week.

Back-in-stock alerts keep that demand alive. Instead of an "out of stock" dead end, shoppers see a "Notify me" button — and hear from you exactly when the item can be bought again.

How it drives sales

  • Demand doesn't disappear. Interest in a specific style and size becomes a sign-up, not a bounce.
  • Shoppers come back on their own. The alert goes out the moment stock arrives, linking straight to the right size — all that's left is to tap "Add to bag".
  • Data for buying decisions. Sign-ups by style and size show what's missing from your warehouse and what's worth reordering.
  • A growing contact base. Shoppers share their email or phone number for a clear reason — and, with their consent, that audience is valuable for other campaigns too.

How it works

  1. On the product page, the shopper picks a size that's out of stock. The "Add to bag" button turns into "Notify me".
  2. They choose a channel — email, SMS or push — and subscribe in a couple of taps. If they're signed in, their contact details are filled in automatically.
  3. In the CMS, managers see sign-ups for every variant: which sizes people are waiting for most.
  4. When stock for the size goes above zero — manually or via an inventory sync — the alerts go out automatically.
  5. The shopper gets an email or notification linking to the product with their size already selected, and comes back to buy.

Use cases

  • Restocking bestselling sizes. The most requested items are visible at a glance — so buying is based on real demand.
  • Limited pieces and pre-orders. If a style won't be restocked, you can offer subscribers the new collection or a similar piece.
  • Few left, many waiting. Paired with the "Only 2 left" indicator, alerts cover the whole journey: from the last unit to the size coming back.
  • Wishlist. If an item on a shopper's wishlist sells out, they can subscribe to it right from the list.
